Why have we lost half of our manufacturing jobs since 1979?

Because if they stay in more economically devolped countries they will not only have to pay higher wages but their resources and equipment will be more expensive. On the other hand if they go to less economically devopled countries the wages will be very low, resources will be much cheaper and in total their profits will be much higher than having a factory in America or the UK
